    Title

    Mrs. Conibear With 'Tea Bag'

    Subject

Mrs. Conibear with moose 'tea bag' and commentary

    Description

Modified photograph of Mrs. Conibear, trader and entrepreneur, holding a moosehide 'tea bag' in front of her Fort Smith home. From the accompanying text:

'Mrs Connibear in front of her house at Fort Smith. It is probably the only house in the North Country with a veranda, and is the last word in "swank"
She is holding an Eskimo "tea bag" which is used by the Eskimo much as we use a market basket. It is the skin of an unborn moose, the legs tied and the bottoms tasselled out.'
