Miriam Green Ellis' University of Alberta Connections
A selection of documents and items from the Miriam Green Ellis collection affiliated with the University of Alberta.
Although MGE was not a student at the University of Alberta, the fact that she bequeathed her papers indicates her regard for the institution and its curatorial practices. Edmonton was home base for her at the beginning of her career. During her year as Edmonton president of the CWPC, the guest speakers she invited included Acting President of the University William Kerr, Dean of Agriculture E. A. Howes, and Premier Charles Stewart. The shipping boxes addressed to University of Alberta President Walter Johns and the slide boxes with individual segmented openings for each item display the care she took in preserving her work.
