    Description

    A saddled horse, stuck in the soft mud while trying to ford the Salt River in the Northwest Territories, thrashes its head. This image juxtaposes the coloured magic lantern version with the photographic print included in Miriam Green Ellis' photo album. The coloured magic lantern slide version is on the top, and the album print is on the bottom.
